Here's Day 3 of NY Comic Con event diary by our Assistant PR Manager Amelia Cantlay.
DAY 3:
Well, all good things must unfortunately come to an end...
The last day of Comic Con was a day of many goodbyes, including to some of the figures that were available for purchase at our booth. So who do you think was the first to go? This guy right here:
SE-PHI-ROTH! (You know you want to sing that out loud)
Cloud and Vincent followed closely behind, and Reno nearly got the SOLD OUT sticker treatment as well, thanks to everyone that picked up their favorite FINAL FANTASY VII character(s).
A big THANK YOU once again to everyone that stopped by our booth! You guys made the 10-hour shifts bearable (and actually fun!) and we look forward to running into you all again at future conventions. We will have more to share at our online store in the coming months, so make sure to visit often!
NY Comic Con Event Diary: Day 2

SQUARE ENIX MEMBERS is now one month old. Hooray.
Now that that's out of the way, here's Day 2 of NY Comic Con event diary by our Assistant PR Manager Amelia Cantlay.
DAY 2:
A full day for all Comic Con attendees! The floors were open to public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., so we had plenty of time to discuss merchandise with everyone that stopped by.
Here are the top five questions that were asked during the show (and if any of you reading this remember asking these questions, don't worry you weren't alone!):
1. Don't you have any CRISIS CORE figures? Where's Zack?? I want Zack!
A Zack figure sounds awesome! We had an overwhelming demand for CRISIS CORE - FINAL FANTASY VII - merchandise and the team definitely got the message from you all. Currently we have the SOLDIER Key Ring and Loveless Locket available online, but there should be more to come... especially now that we've found out there's so much love out there for Zack and his crew :)
2. Why is the jewelry so expensive?
Oh boy let me tell you about this jewelry. We saw so many people do double-takes at the price tags on these, but there's a good reason behind it all. The team that created this jewelry wanted to make something that fans could actually wear in their daily lives - something that doesn't look like costume jewelry - and a lot of effort was put into its production. "Holy" on the right there is made with green fluorite, and "Meteor" is onyx, and that's sterling silver all around! The team chose stones that are said to have healing or energizing properties to make these as materia-like as possible!
3. Can I have that Sephiroth?
That Sephiroth over there? The big one in that display case? He is unfortunately not available yet :( He'll be coming out this summer though! Cheer up! And if you visit our online store you'll see that Cloud is currently available in that same ¼ scale size. Why not have him keep you company while you wait for Sephiroth's grand entrance? ;)
4. Is that a Chocobo rubber ducky?! *squeal*
Indeed! That is a Chocobo rubber ducky and he actually floats! The merchandise team had to go through several rounds of production since his heavy backside was causing sinkage... What do you guys think? The team definitely likes to have fun with their projects, and this little ducky might just make it into our selection if we see that enough people are willing to give him a home.
5. When will that Fullmetal Alchemist piece become available?
It seems like a lot of people were pleasantly surprised to find out that we're working on a Fullmetal Alchemist piece. The version we had on display during Comic Con is in a state of mid-production so this one isn't ready for the market just yet.
It was great to hear what everyone had to say about the merchandise. Questions, comments, requests... everything has been relayed to the merchandise team and will definitely be a source of inspiration for their future creations.
Only one day left!
NY Comic Con Event Diary: Day 1

Our Assistant PR Manager Amelia Cantlay wrote an event diary documenting Square Enix's presence at this year's NY Comic Con.
DAY 1:
So what exactly goes on behind those sacred Comic Con gates before the show opens up to the public? Here's a sneak peek:
The task of setting up the merchandise, especially the posable PLAY ARTS figures, is serious business... And it's also where the merchandising team gets to express their creativity. There's a lot of thought put into how to show off each character's personality, and breathe some life into them. We're especially proud of how Yuffie turned out!
All action figure owners are encouraged to shed those boxes and experience the art of posing!
Cash registers check. Customer line-up area check. Display cases windexed and sparkling. I think we're ready to go!
The show opened to media attendees at 10AM, but it wasn't until 3PM that the convention *really* got started! Once the floors were opened to the general public (that's you guys!) our booth got much love from a great crowd of excited fans.
For those of you who weren't able to make it out to the show we basically had four display cases worth of merchandise that were divided into "upcoming" and "available right here, right now!!" sections. The upcoming items included the brand new PEANUTS line in the Formation Arts series, prototypes of a Sora (KINGDOM HEARTS) statue and action figure, as well as an amazing Fullmetal Alchemist Sculpture Arts piece that had everyone drooling over the display case.

... To be continued!
The world could end with you.

We're very excited about The World Ends with You.
How excited?
We can't really express it in words so we won't.
In any case, we're excited to know that this game is getting a lot of good reviews and lots and lots of buzz. We hope you pick the game up and enjoy it as much as we do. The game will be available tomorrow.
The deviantArt feature update is also scheduled for tomorrow, and it'll be about the development of Psych effects and in-game fashion brands/pins.
A sneak peak:

See the evolution of Natural Puppy! Yeah!
We also added some new wallpapers, if you haven't noticed. We hope you like them.

RSS Feeds And Why You Should Subscribe To Them

Ever visit your favorite website to see if they've updated, but once there, you leave in disappointment since nothing had changed? If so, you need to start using RSS feeds - your new best friend on the internet.
Finding RSS Feeds
The first thing you need to do is find an RSS feed. Not all websites have it, but many news sites and blogs (including this blog) do. For example, you'll see that we have a "Subscribe" button in the menu section of this blog.

Most modern browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 can spot feeds for you if you have trouble finding the feed on the site. Here are examples of how feeds appear in Firefox and in Internet Explorer 7.
Subscribing
Once you find the feed, go ahead and click it. Depending on your settings or preferences, the browser may ask how you want to view these feeds; either with the browser itself or a third-party RSS feed reader. It's up to you, but Google Reader is a good feed reader if you already have a Gmail account, as you can conveniently check your feeds wherever you go as long as you are logged in.
Reading
Once subscribed, either fire up your feed reader or click on the feed link in your browser, and voilà - you are subscribed! The feed will be automatically updated whenever a new post is added so you'll never miss a thing.
Now you can e-stalk us.

Updated today was the last part of Q&A with CRISIS CORE director Hajime Tabata. We would've updated it earlier in the day if we weren't experiencing technical difficulties... Apologies to those who were waiting for this all day.
Also updated was the second episode of The World Ends with You Creators' Roundtable. Some really interesting stuff there about how the game's ground-breaking two-screen battle was born.
Speaking of The World Ends with You, one of the creators from the roundtable, Mr. Hasegawa, is contributing to this really cool concept art feature which is currently running on the online artist community deviantART. There's a contest going on as well, so check it out.

Thank you all for sending in your feedback. We received a lot of insightful comments and suggestions.
We'd like to use today's post to answer a couple of questions we received since last night:
Is this an official Square Enix site, or is it a fan site?
This is an official Square Enix site, operated by Square Enix.
Why isn't there any information on the upcoming [enter your favorite Square Enix series' title]?
When the information becomes available, we will release it. Trust us...
Why is the blog poster nameless?
Because we are all under the witness protection program.
Again, thank you for your feedback.
It's true.
