NY Comic Con Event Diary: Day 1

Our Assistant PR Manager Amelia Cantlay wrote an event diary documenting Square Enix's presence at this year's NY Comic Con.

DAY 1:

So what exactly goes on behind those sacred Comic Con gates before the show opens up to the public? Here's a sneak peek:

01.jpgThe task of setting up the merchandise, especially the posable PLAY ARTS figures, is serious business... And it's also where the merchandising team gets to express their creativity. There's a lot of thought put into how to show off each character's personality, and breathe some life into them. We're especially proud of how Yuffie turned out!

All action figure owners are encouraged to shed those boxes and experience the art of posing!

The show opened to media attendees at 10AM, but it wasn't until 3PM that the convention *really* got started! Once the floors were opened to the general public (that's you guys!) our booth got much love from a great crowd of excited fans.

08052303.jpgFor those of you who weren't able to make it out to the show we basically had four display cases worth of merchandise that were divided into "upcoming" and "available right here, right now!!" sections. The upcoming items included the brand new PEANUTS line in the Formation Arts series, prototypes of a Sora (KINGDOM HEARTS) statue and action figure, as well as an amazing Fullmetal Alchemist Sculpture Arts piece that had everyone drooling over the display case.
