We briefly explained how to train and battle with your monsters in Part 1, so now let's get into the details about the monsters themselves and the items that you can obtain in the Arena.

Your starting monster, a smidge, may seem weak at first, but with the proper training it can evolve into something much stronger. Note that the items used for training can affect your monster's elemental affinity and evolutionary path, so choose wisely!

Send your monster to battle and train it to raise the ultimate monster.

Below is a partial chart of monsters into which a smidge can evolve. What your smidge actually becomes will depend on the era and item chosen for its training.

Participation in Arena battles costs money. The entry fee increases according to the tier at which you choose to compete, but the prizes that you can win at higher tiers are also of greater value. Money spent in the Arena depletes your party funds in the main quest, so be sure to save enough money for your next equipment shopping spree.

Some of the prizes obtained by participating in battles are exclusive to the Arena. Once you receive your item you can start using it right away in the main quest, so raise your monster to be a juggernaut and see what treasures await you. They just might give you that extra edge in your next boss battle!
